چکیده
Endotracheal intubation and laryngoscopy are noxious stimuli provoke cardiovascular autonomic responses because of sympathoadrenal stimulation. Attenuation significant increases in heart rate blood pressure decreases the risk complications.Various pharmacological non-pharmacological methods have been tried to attenuate hemodynamic response endotracheal intubation. None approaches proved be ideal. In view it present study was undertaken evaluate compare effects intravenous magnesium sulphate 30mg/kg lignocaine 2mg/kg attenuation pressor intubation.Prospective randomized controlled conducted which 60 American society Anesthesiologist 1 patients, aged 18-60yrs, undergoing elective surgery under general anesthesia were selected. Patients into 2 groups: Group with thirty patients who received MgSO4 mg/kg bolus. Anesthesia induced using premedication glycopyrolate, midazolam, ondansetron injection Fentanyl administered as analgesic agent. Study drug Injection mgso4 90sec before induction propofol agent followed by succinylscoline facilitate Laryngoscopy both groups studied recording Heart Rate (HR), (BP), at baseline, after administering drug, laryngoscopy, after intubation, 1min,3min,5minsafter intubation.Study revealed that had decreasing trend HR MAP recorded till 5mins Mgso4 has vasodilator properties significantly suppresses release catecholamines hence can stress better than lignocaine.

A Comparative Study of Clonidine and Lignocaine for Attenuating Pressor Responses to Laryngoscopy and Endotracheal Intubation in Neurosurgical Cases
BACKGROUND AND AIMS Laryngoscopy and endotracheal intubation are associated with reflex sympathetic stimulation, known as pressor response and can cause major complications. We compared the attenuating effect of time-tested lignocaine versus clonidine on the hemodynamic response to laryngoscopy and intubation in neurosurgical cases. DESIGN A prospective, randomized, comparative, double-blind ...
متن کاملOral clonidine for attenuation of haemodynamic response to laryngoscopy and endotracheal intubation in known hypertensive patients.
BACKGROUND Sympathetic response associated with laryngoscopy and endotracheal intubation is recognised as a potential cause for a number of complications especially in hypertensive patients. Various methods have been used to attenuate these haemodynamic responses; however most of the studies are in normotensive patients. The aim of our study was to compare the effect of oral clonidine and 1/V f...
متن کاملComparison of Dexmedetomidine with Fentanyl in Attenuation of Pressor Response during Laryngoscopy and Intubation
INTRODUCTION The pressure response, which is part of a huge spectrum of stress response, results from the increase in sympathetic and sympathoadrenalactivity.Acomparision between dexmeditomedine and fentanyl in suppressing the pressorresponse is studied. OBJECTIVE This study was done to compare the effectiveness of Dexmedetomidine with Fentenyl in attenuating the pressor responses associated wi...
متن کاملEfficacy and Optimal Time of Oropharyngeal Topical 10% Lignocaine Spray Before Induction of Anaesthesia in Attenuating the Pressor Response to Direct Laryngoscopy and Endotracheal Intubation
The study aimed to ascertain the efficacy of oropharyngeal topical 10% lignocaine spray applied prior to induction of anaesthesia and also to determine the optimal time for spraying to attenuate pressor response to laryngoscopy and endotracheal intubation. 80 patients of either sex, in the age group of 20-60 years (ASA I & II) undergoing different elective surgical procedures under general anae...

BACKGROUND Sympathetic response associated with laryngoscopy and endotracheal intubation is recognized as a potential cause for a number of complications especially in coronary bypass surgery patients. Various methods have been used to attenuate these hemodynamic responses, The aim of our study was to compare lidocaine spray in addition to intravenous morphine on attenuating the hemodynamic res...
